"Next Stop NY! Acting 101". "How to get started in the Acting Business"

A MUST specialty class for adults and children who want to get into the entertainment business! Learn about Photos, Resumes, Unions, Agents and Auditions Requirements needed for working permits and trust funds for minors. How to find an agent when the time is right and go about doing it! Understanding the different options of finding auditions in order to submit your photos and resume to casting directors of Film, TV, Theatre, and Student Films. Learn how to be proactive in your own career! I will advise you on building your resume and will answer all your questions and concerns. "Cold Reading Audition Technique:"  "Want to improve your auditions"

A specialty class for those who want to improve their cold reading audition technique skills. Gary will help you learn and improve the acting technique necessary to make you look like a professional at any audition and will help you to understand the script structure to obtain the desired end result. You will be taught to be able to look at a script for a short time and make decisions necessary to bring your character's emotion and physical behavior to life. Instruction is also provided in order for you to be able to take and make the necessary adjustments given by the casting director at an audition. "Special Area Acting Class:"

A specialty acting classes can be scheduled for those who prefer a one on one lesson. A specialty lesson can assist in working on a particular problem the actor is having where individual instruction is required. Any area from our Craft / Technique to Scene and Monologue analysis. "Just Commercials”Class will be offered  when the minimum of six is met.

Gary Nastu's training and knowledge in commercial acting and improvisation come from an amazing source! His friend and Teacher Jeff Gerrard who owns Jeff Gerrard Casting in Los Angeles since 1983 and has cast over 3,500 commercials! Jeff Gerrard is, and has been, the President of the Commercial Casting Directors Association for over fifteen years.

This specialty class is for those actors who are interested in focusing on becoming proficient at commercial acting and auditioning. We will help develop the actor's commercial skills and personality. You will be introduced to strong commercial techniques that will make you more competitive. We will focus on dialogue, improvisational and some group scene auditions. Students will learn to understand storyboards and learn to read from cue cards. Actors will learn to use product handling, reaction work, camera technique and hitting marks. Students will be taught improvisation techniques that will help them when there is no scripted commercial dialogue, which is very useful in today's market.

The Just Commercial Class will be held on two consecutive Sunday afternoons from 2:00 pm – 5:00pm.   Cost is $150.00 for the two day – three hour class.
